Glory to the newborn King
I have been busy at the house, getting ready for two events that I was hosting. Cooking, cleaning, and more cleaning and cooking. But it is truly my favorite time of year and I love to have parties.I had my Bible study girls over for lunch last week and a Cookie Exchange. I love to have Cookie Exchanges... and much to my surprise, several of my girls had never been to one! So that was extra fun to see them enjoy the excitement of taking so many different cookies home with them to have for their families.Last weekend, I hosted a little Christmas tea party/ art pop up show. It was a lot of fun too. We had lots of food, and lots of left over food!! Surprising how many people are already on their pre holiday diets, saving room for the big dinners and desserts coming in a few weeks for Christmas. We had art, jewelry, clothes and more art set up in the basement room. It was a good thing to watch our art going out the door to new homes.I didn`t have much art time last week, but did manage to finish up a drawing that I had done. I sketched it all out then used watercolor to finish her up. I am really drawn to little lambs for some reason this year, so she is holding a little one in the picture. The nativity is in the background with the three kings coming to visit the newborn baby Jesus. Whimsical tree with crocked star is in the front. I am not sure that I like the path heading up to the stable but can change that easily after I let it rest for a few days. I was inspired once again, by Mindy Lacefield and her little girls.I made her into a Christmas card saying, "Glory to the newborn King"As you can tell, if you have followed my art lately, I love pink hair!!Linked with Sunday Sketches this week hereHave a wonderful new week and don`t get caught up in all the business of the season to forget the reason for it all.... the birth of JesusLove,Jane
