Angels among us
I had an angel kind of day this week. I got some of my wood canvas out and painted it all black. then sketched in some angels. Different sizes and different groups, and some single ones but worked on them kind of at the same time.Painted the subjects with white gesso, then went around them with blue, trying to leave a thin bit of the black background color peaking out. Once the background was completed,I painted in the girls.. then to finish them off, I palette knifed the wings. That was the fun part for me!!This first group is a younger bunch of girls... They actually were given to my husbands secretary for Executive assistants day this week!! So she has them hanging in her little girl`s room.. This next one is a very tall 12x24 sheet of plywood. I call them, Sisters in Christ. They are on their way to a new home in California this week. This one is about 11x14 size and was the first one I did, the practice one. They are heading to Louisianna to live with a new friend, Karen. I have done some prints to have of these too. This is the top half of another long and skinny piece of wood angel. And here she is in all of her glory!!I love having a day to paint... It gives me a sense of joy to be able to actually start something and finish it up all on the same day..I am already thinking ahead to Christmas when the angels will be all around, so I need to get started!!Have a great new week!!Linked with Sunday Sketches http://bluechairdiary.blogspot.com/Love,Jane
